The island of Terceira in the Azores, believed to be the "Island of Brazil" on early maps. Hondius engraved new plates for his edition of the Bertius atlas 'Tabularum Geographicarum Contractarum', which he sold alongside the Mercator 'Atlas Minor'. KOEMAN: Lan 11a, 'With the new plates, the work was certainly improved'.
