Untitled map of the West Indies, engraved by either Pieter van den Keere or Jodocus Hondius the Elder. This is the earliest of two plates used to illustrated the Bertius atlas, without longitude and latitude scales. It was replaced by a new plate by Jodocus Hondius the younger in 1616.

One of the most decorative maps of Bermuda based on the famous survey by Richard Norwood of the Bermuda Company, also known as the Somers Isles Company in 1618. The map shows the division into the original Tribes, a short-lived name for what became administrative parishes, who were the major shareholders in the company. Also shown are the various landowners, with their names in a table below the map. There are many tiny houses shown on the map, locating settlements, as well as minute cannons marking the defensible points. The map is superimposed over a chart of the Atlantic with the coastlines of Britain, North America and Hispaniola showing the location of Bermuda. Decorated with an exquisite strapwork cartouche, a coat of arms, a medallion and a compass rose. PALMER: Bermuda, p.13.

The maps are all by Paul Küffner: a general map of the Antilles; St Thomas; & St Croix. The plates are all after Oldendorp: two views of Frederiksted on St Croix, St Thomas and St John.
