An early example of this large map of Hampshire, published in the 'Large English Atlas', the largest county atlas produced at the time, with many of the maps supplied by Emmanuel Bowles. It was an ambitious project, with maps issued separately from 1749 until the atlas was completed in 1760. Tinney found that he could not support the production, so he brought in partners to share the cost, and later states bear the names of publishers like Thomas Bowles & John Bowles, Robert Sayer and others. The ample space around the map allowed Kitchen to engrave a large title cartouche and many descriptive texts. KITC0005
